My name is Miles McCarthy, a 28-year-old Austin native. I've spent the previous five years at Lenox Park Solutions, an asset management technology venture backed by David Bonderman (TPG) and JT Crandall (Oak Hill). In that role (starting in NYC), I worked directly with the founder (ex-Merrill investment banker) on the angel fundraise, financial modeling, and overall operations of the firm. As we grew through multiple pre-institutional rounds, we hired a CFO (ex-Oaktree, Morgan Stanley), whom I also worked with in that capacity, while building out my own team of software engineers and quarterbacking the product development (our flagship product was a digital marketplace to facilitate capital raising, i.e. connecting LPs and GPs). Prior to Lenox Park, I spent time in a traditional financial analyst seat at VMG Health, working on valuation and M&A models in healthcare, namely a deal with Welsh Carson Anderson Stowe. I hold a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin, where I completed internships at GP International Capital (assisted on a fundraise for Boone Pickens’ private equity firm) and Vinson & Elkins, LLP, and have recently completed pro-bono market research for Elsewhere Partners here in town, a SaaS-focused VC. With my combined experience across the financial markets, I’m looking to sit in the allocator seat and evaluate venture/growth-stage investments for the duration of my career.
