Hey, I’m Emily Penrod! I’m a freelancer located in Sacramento, California. My growing interest in public relations and social media flourished during my first post college position managing social media for the Speaker of the Assembly for California. The old saying “you only get one chance to make a first impression” inspired me as I continued my career managing media both on and offscreen with the Downtown Sacramento Partnership and finally, working hands-on with various clients at Dewey Square Group, a national public affairs firm. My desire to work directly and personally with people and their businesses led me to create my own brand and make the leap into the freelance world and start my own journey.    Coming from a family of small business owners, I have learned first-hand the challenges that small business owners face and what many are looking to accomplish. There is a certain type of moxie that is required to keep businesses up and running successfully. The digital world is changing every day and we are learning that public relations and a solid social media strategy can be a lifesaver to help enhance a brand’s image.    I started Moxxie Communications not only to help inspire businesses to elevate their strategy and connect with their audience, but to remind others that a little bit of determination, nerve, and drive will help push the limits and achieve your goals.
