Problem

Cats are like family to many people. But cat parents oftentimes feed their furry friend food that could harm them - unintentionally! Many cats are overweight and face deadly diseases like cancer, heart problems, diabetes, and issues with their kidneys and liver. Just like humans, cats are what they eat. You've probably been told not to feed your cat food from the table because it's harmful. And that might be true if you eat a lot of highly processed fast food. But there’s nothing wrong with a piece of chicken from your plate. Cats LOVE chicken. But then again, you can’t just feed them chicken breast only, because it doesn’t contain enough taurine. Taurine is an essential amino acid that cats must get from their diet because their bodies -unlike dogs - cannot synthesize it. If they don’t receive enough Taurine in their food, their health will start to decline, which explains why cats can’t be fed a vegan diet. And especially fish, the dark meat in turkey and chicken, and eggs are good for them because they contain a lot of taurine. Providing raw food is best because taurine diminishes with high heat. So there’s a lot to know and since our cats are kept mostly indoors nowadays due to safety concerns with regards to cars or predators, they cannot choose their food. It is us who are responsible for providing them with what they need! And most cat food brands don’t produce the healthiest food options. Cat food often contains cheap preservatives that can cause severe diseases, GMOs, guar gum, phosphates, so-called “forever chemicals”, soy, gluten, sugars, canola oil, glycerin, yeast, starch, etc., etc.  All of them should be avoided. Unfortunately, cats are still treated like “second-class” citizens when it comes to their food. So what happens is that cat parents end up spending a lot of time at the pet store reading cat food labels to find out which ones contain the least amount of harmful ingredients. Many cat parents who know about these issues choose to prepare homemade meals for their cats, but it can be very time-consuming. And some of those homemade meals might not be suitable for cats either. And that’s where CatCrazy™ comes in. We're here to tackle all of these issues at their core.

Market

As of November 2023, 46.5 million American families are cat parents and there were $15.3 billion cat food sales in 2023, which is a growth of 9.4% from 2022.  According to the American Pet Products Association’s (APPA) State of the Industry data, total pet industry sales topped $136.8 billion in 2022, representing an increase of 10.8% from 2021. Bloomberg Intelligence (BI) predicts that the US pet market will achieve $195.6 billion in sales by 2030. Millennials make up the largest percentage of current pet owners (33%), followed by Gen X (25%) and baby boomers (24%)

A recent survey of cat parents discovered that cats are still being given second-rate treatment by pet food makers. When asked for examples of better cat products or setups, the responses were diverse. People wanted a wider selection of products, more natural food options, specialized food for aging cats and specific health conditions, chewy hard food, healthier canned food, improved food topper products, and more nutritious and delicious cat treats. This desire for equality extended beyond just food, with cat parents advocating for more attention and respect for cats in the pet product industry. The frustration and demand for change were evident in consumer comments. By giving cats the respect they deserve, we can drive the next wave of growth in the pet food market.

The Global Natural Cat Food Market Report published in July of 2023 reveals that the cat food market is growing at a faster pace with substantial growth rates over the last few years and is estimated that the market will grow significantly in the forecasted period i.e. 2023 to 2031. Will you help me grab a good portion of the natural cat food market? If you are a cat lover like me make this happen together for our cats.
